About Shakir
Shakir Karim is a Lecturer and PhD researcher at the University of Sydney, focusing on health informatics and information systems, health services and systems, social network analysis, and emerging technologies. He has extensive experience across academia and industry, including senior leadership roles in Professional Services at SAI Global Limited, Sydney.
Shakir has served as a Lecturer at Central Queensland University, Australian Catholic University, and the University of Sydney, as well as several international colleges. He teaches ICT courses to diverse student cohorts, emphasising practical application, industry relevance, and student engagement.
His interdisciplinary research spans Information Systems, Business and Management, Education, and Health — covering information systems theory, global IS, big data analytics, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, enterprise systems, digital transformation, and health informatics.
