Orientation Day at AIBI

Orientation Day is your introduction to life at AIBI. It is designed to help you settle into your studies, understand academic expectations, and become familiar with the support services, systems, and people who will support you throughout your course. Whether you are new to Australia, new to higher education, or continuing your studies with us, Orientation Day is an important first step to starting your trimester confidently and successfully.

What to Expect on the Day

Orientation Day combines information sessions, practical guidance, and opportunities to meet staff and fellow students. The day includes registration, campus orientation, presentations, and time to ask questions.

You will also receive important information about safety, academic requirements, student services, and your responsibilities as a student.

During Orientation Day, we will cover key areas including:

  • Welcome and introduction to AIBI
  • Academic structure, expectations, and assessment overview
  • Student visa conditions and work rights
  • Attendance, progression, and key academic dates
  • Academic integrity, plagiarism, and appropriate use of AI
  • Student support services, wellbeing, and academic assistance
  • Campus facilities, resources, and safety procedures
  • Complaints, appeals, and special consideration processes
  • Accessing student systems, email, Canvas, and learning resources
