About Maryam
Dr. Maryam Shahbazi is a Senior Lecturer at AIBI Higher Education and Program Coordinator for the MBA (Digital Transformation). She is an academic and practitioner specialising in Digital Transformation, Business Information Systems, and Strategic Communication. She completed her PhD at the University of Sydney Business School, where her research explored how digital technologies drive resilience and innovation during periods of disruption.
Her research interests focus on digital resilience, digital transformation processes and platforms, and the use of digital trace data — including social media, enterprise systems, and online communities — to understand organisational behaviour and crisis communication. Her research has been published in leading outlets such as JASIST and the International Journal of Information Management (IJIM).
Combining academic expertise with extensive experience in international business and project leadership, Maryam has led and managed complex business initiatives across diverse industries. Her professional background spans international business development, market research, and project management.
