Studying Online

at AIBI HE

Learn From Anywhere

Our live online classes are designed for students who are passionate about cyber security, or business, but are unable to attend in person due to living too far away.

Recognising that not everyone can commute to our inner-city campuses or might reside in areas where our courses aren’t available, we’ve made it our mission to offer an online alternative that offers the same opportunities and quality education as our on-campus students.

Our online classes mirror the structure of our on-campus sessions. You’ll engage in live lectures, ask questions, submit assessments, collaborate with peers, and access online support and resources. All course materials and support services are available to you 24/7.

What Online Learning at AIBI HE Looks Like

• Live & Interactive Classes

Have direct, real-time interactions with lecturers and classmates. You’ll complete the same assessments and enjoy the same highly interactive experience as our on-campus classes.

• Personal Online Learning Portal

At AIBI HE, we use Canvas as our student learning portal. You’ll receive access to your account at the beginning of your studies, and this will be your go-to for collaborating with lecturers and peers, accessing your timetable, and finding learning materials and other resources.

• Supportive Learning Community

Like all AIBI HE students, you’ll have full access to our full range of student support services. This includes assistance from our student experience, library, and academic teams, as well as access to our health and wellbeing services.

• Regular Class Breaks

Take it from us, Zoom fatigue is real. That’s why each of our lessons includes breaks, giving students time to catch up with one another, grab a quick drink or snack, or even just take a break from their screen.

You’ve Got The Questions,

We’ve Got The Answers

Will all classes be online?

Yes! Each of our classes will take place over Zoom, in real time.
None of our online classes will be pre-recorded.

How many classes will I have?

Our online learning mirrors our on-campus delivery format. Each academic year includes three trimesters, each lasting 11 weeks of teaching followed by one exam week.

Full-time study means you will have 9 subjects annually (3 per trimester), averaging 3 hours per subject for lectures and tutorials.

What will my class schedule look like?

We normally hold your classes on one afternoon and one evening on day one and in the evening on day two. For instance:
Monday: Classes from 2-5 and then 5.30-8.30
Tuesday: Classes from 5.30-8.30

Do I need to attend classes during the scheduled time?

Attendance and participation in all scheduled lectures, tutorials, and workshops is mandatory.

Classes are not recorded.

What will I need?

You’ll need your own laptop/computer, matching the specifications required for your course, for classes and completing weekly tasks and assessments.

Canvas, our learning platform, grants access to course materials like outlines, slides, readings, and study details, including assessment submission instructions. You will receive access to your Canvas account during Orientation.

Are there additional study requirements?

Apart from attending live lectures, we recommend that you allocate roughly 10 hours per week to self-directed study.

This includes readings, skill practice, research, and assessment preparation.

How will I interact with my lecturer's?

All staff and students use Canvas, our online learning portal, ensuring you always have access to our teaching staff, no matter where you are based.

How will I access the library?

You’ll have full access to our online library, which offers students access to books, academic journals, and a range of resources throughout their studies.
