FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Apply Directly to AIBI Higher Education?

Applying for admission into an AIBI Higher Education (AIBI HE) program is quick and easy.

Our How to Apply page has all of the information you need to begin your application. Please make sure that you have followed the checklist on this page before starting your application.

I Received A Letter of Offer. What Are The Next Steps?

If you have received a Letter of Offer, you need to follow the steps noted in the letter on how to accept your offer.

You also need to make the required payments (including the OSHC if you are an international student and you have requested AIBI to make arrangements for you) and return the acceptance document to our admissions team.

What is OSHC (Overseas Student Health Cover)?

As an international student in Australia, you and your dependents (for example, spouse and children under 18 years old) are required by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) to have an Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the entire duration of your study in Australia.

This insurance will cover visits to the doctor, some hospital treatment, ambulance cover and limited pharmaceuticals (medicine).

What is the COE (Confirmation of Enrolment)?

Once you have made the payment and returned the acceptance documents, our admissions team will issue your Confirmation of Enrolment.

This document is required for you to start your student visa application.

Is it Possible to Apply Credit From Another Education Provider Towards my Studies at AIBI HE?

Yes. AIBI HE will determine credit from other related qualifications or units successfully completed by the student on a case-by-case basis.

These qualifications or units may be completed by any other registered vocational or higher education provider.

Credit Transfers can reduce the amount of study needed to complete a degree.

Please see our Credit for Prior Learning Policy and Credit for Prior Learning Procedure on our Policies & Procedures Page for more information.

Please also inform our Admissions Team that you would like to apply for Credit of Prior Learning so they can send you the Information Pack.

How Can I Defer my Studies?

Students may apply to defer the commencement of study by submitting the online request to the Registrar at any time before the census date.

AIBI Higher Education will only grant a deferral to overseas students based on compelling or compassionate circumstances.

If granted, AIBI Higher Education will notify the Department of Home Affairs of any changes in the student’s enrolment.

The student should also seek advice from the Department of Home Affairs on any potential impacts on their student visa.

For further details, refer to the Student Refund Policy on our Policies & Procedures Page.

Can I Apply for Scholarships or Financial Assistance at AIBI HE?
